CATALOGUES

Artistiek Bureau was founded in 2008 by Nick ter Wal. Since the Spring of 2019, he buys and sells (Dutch) literature in first and rare editions, unique copies and archives. Occasionally, Nick also likes to publish small press books with a short story by A.L. Snijders or poems by Menno Wigman.

Nick worked as an antiquarian bookseller for over ten years at Fokas Holthuis in The Hague. There, he contributed to important catalogues about Hugo Claus, Willem Frederik Hermans and E. du Perron. Nick also catalogued archives of major historical figures as Albert Schweitzer.

Artistiek Bureau operates from the attic of a former jailer's house built in 1894 in Groningen, a nice university city in the north of the Netherlands. Visitors are welcome, but by appointment only.
